My artistic journey has been an exhilarating odyssey through the world of creativity. I've always had a profound desire to craft and create, whether it's through painting, drawing, sculpting, crocheting, sewing, or redesigning.

Drawing and painting have been my companions since my teenage years.

​

Still, it evolved into a lifestyle in my adulthood, inspired by a talented artist cousin. Painting, for me, is a refuge where I translate thoughts and emotions onto canvas. Sometimes, my paintings are imbued with melancholy and darkness; other times, they radiate happiness and joy. What unites them all is their ability to express raw emotions.

My journey as an artist began as a hobby but quickly became necessary. If a day or two passes without me picking up a brush, my mind brims with ideas for the next project. It's like embarking on an inner voyage, seeking balance and tranquility through art.

In terms of the paintings themselves, I began with nudes, ventured into portraits, and explored animals. Currently, I'm experimenting with various forms of abstract art, using oil, acrylic, pen, ink, and pencil.

The time I invest in a single painting can vary greatly, ranging from 10 to 100 hours, depending on their level of detail and realism. I often work on multiple pieces simultaneously because sometimes my momentum wanes or the initial feeling I had when I started the painting changes. It's a process where I might start with an inspiring photo but evolve it based on a deeper meaning or emotion I want to convey.

Art is about eliciting meaning and emotion, delving deep within oneself, and painting it out. It's an essential part of my life that brings immense joy and contemplation.
As for artists I admire, Rembrandt captivates me with his exquisite portraits and empathetic strokes. Leonardo da Vinci's diversity and forward-thinking art have been a profound inspiration source.

A bit about my background and career journey: I initially trained as a medical secretary and worked in that field while raising my children. Later, I pursued higher education and earned a bachelor's degree in media and communication. I've managed Anny's studio and Azur's. 

​

I've also served as the marketing lead for a wholesale group and was involved in selecting merchandise from China for nearly 40 independent interior stores in Norway. I designed and created product catalogs for these stores and was a business consultant for a carpentry and upholstery company. I also crafted direct advertising materials. In recent years, I've been a sailor and store manager on one of the vessels in the Hurtigruten fleet.

My inspiration for my paintings springs from emotions, motherhood, human destinies, animals, the environment, and, above all, events from my own life.
What distinguishes me as an artist is how my eyes often engage with you, offering a story, emotions, and perhaps even affirmation.
